To protect our editorial independence and long-term sustainability, we seek financial support from a diverse range of sources, including:

• Individual readers.
• Foundations.
• Corporate sponsorships that comply with our Editorial Independence Policy.
• Nonprofit organizations.
• Events and educational programs.
• Other mission-consistent revenue sources.

No single donor or funding source should determine our editorial priorities. Whenever practical, we diversify our revenue to reduce reliance on any one source of support.

We are committed to transparency about how our journalism is funded. Our donor disclosure practices, including the public disclosure of major donors, are outlined in our Editorial Independence Policy.

When financial support is directly connected to a particular story, series, or reporting project, we disclose that relationship within the story. When we report on an individual or organization that has previously donated to The Jersey Vindicator, we disclose that relationship whenever it is relevant to readers’ understanding of the coverage.

Accepting financial support does not imply an endorsement of a donor or the donor’s products, services, or opinions. Donors do not have the right to assign, review, edit, approve, or influence our journalism.

We accept anonymous donations only for general operating support and only when appropriate safeguards are in place to protect our editorial independence and comply with the standards of the Institute for Nonprofit News.

We do not accept donations from political parties, candidates for public office, elected officials, or any donor whose support would compromise, or reasonably appear to compromise, our editorial independence. The Board of Directors reserves the right to decline or return any donation that presents a conflict of interest or is inconsistent with our mission and values.

As a fiscally sponsored nonprofit organization in New Jersey with a pending 501(c)(3) application, The Jersey Vindicator does not pay certain taxes and may receive funding through government programs available to nonprofit organizations. Such funding does not influence our editorial decisions.

The Jersey Vindicator’s Board of Directors is responsible for organizational governance and financial oversight. The board does not direct, review, approve, or influence editorial decisions or news coverage.
