Our mission at The Jersey Vindicator is to educate, engage, and empower residents of the Garden State with the information and analysis necessary for them to advocate for a more transparent and just government that is accountable to the public. Please note that the following terms are part of our agreements with publishers:

• You may not edit the story or headline except to reflect updated references to time (e.g., modifying “today” to “yesterday”), location (e.g., changing “here” to “New York”), or editorial style (if your publication uses honorific titles, for example).
• If you publish the story online, include all of the story’s links.
• Include a byline at the top of the story using the following format: by [Firstname] [Lastname], The Jersey Vindicator. For example: by Krystal Knapp, The Jersey Vindicator.
• Include this line at the top of the story: “This story was originally published by The Jersey Vindicator. Sign up for their newsletter. here”
• The words “originally published” must link back to the original post on our website.
• When including the link to the original story, you must update the link URL to include rel=”canonical”. For example: <a href=”URL” rel=”canonical”>Story headline</a>. This is easy to do with Yoast and other SEO plugins. The URL should be the original story link. If you use an SEO plugin you must add the original Vindicator story link in the canonical URL field.
• You can not use the photos from our stories. The Jersey Vindicator expressly disclaims any liability arising out of your unauthorized use of third-party content.
• You must not have any advertising on the page where you reproduce our story.
• At the end of the story, include the following line, as seen in the HTML and plain text: “The Jersey Vindicator is a nonprofit investigative news organization serving residents of the Garden State.” with a link back to our homepage.
• For print outlets, the above rules apply except for embedding links. Include our main url —  jerseyvindicator.org — in the line at the end of the story: “The Jersey Vindicator is a nonprofit, nonpartisan investigative news organization serving residents of the Garden State. Read more at jerseyvindicator.org.”
• If you republish in print, please let us know at mediarights@jerseyvindicator.org.
